On July 24, Cambridge, Massachussetts, electro-pop powerhouse Passion Pit is set to drop their much anticipated third studio album,“Gossamer.” The effort is a follow-up to the band’s 2009 full-length, “Manners.”
As a token of things to come, the band has just released the new album’s lead single, a beautifully produced track titled “Take a Walk.”
“Take a Walk,” is an upbeat tune which sees the band singing about the perils of the current economic crisis and its impact on families everywhere. The track is masterfully laden with tasteful synth hooks, which serve as the mainstay for somber lyrics such as “I watch my little children, play some board game in the kitchen/And I sit and pray they never feel my strife.”
Brilliant simplicity, in a nutshell.
